Schedule

I am having a hard time getting all the classes i need. Some classes are only offered in the spring and some are only offered in the fall. What is that all about i mean come on now. Any way i have to take summer classes. There is a problem with these classes as well. They all start at the same time. So i want to take more than one class each session but i can not. I will figure it out eventually.

Target Heart rate

I used a heart rate monitor today and thought it was great. I know it is important to work out in your target heart rate zone. To get the most out of your work out you need to stay in this zone for at least 20 min. I like how i just need to look at my wrist to check my heart rate. It is a lot easier than taking my pulse and doing the math.

PENS.

The Pens beat the Ottawa Senators and it only took four games. This is great because now the team will have a lot of time to rest before the next game against either the Rangers or the Devils. I hope we play the Rangers i want to beat Jaguar and his team. I am also going to say that i think the Pens will win the cup this year. I think they will beat Detroit in five games in the finals.

Woods at the Masters

Well i was wrong Tiger did not win the Masters. He did come in second place. Second is not good enough for Tiger he wants to win ever tournament he enters. Trever Immelmen won by three stokes. If Tiger could have putted better and put some pressure on Trevor i think it would have been a different result. After the Masters Tiger went in for Knee surgery and will be out for at least a month. It will be interesting to see what he does in his first tournament after surgery.

e-folio

I have been working on my electronic portfolio for awhile now. Its a lot of work but i think it is a great way to market yourself. I am used to paper resumes and portfolios. I love the idea of having everything on one disc. I also like how easy it will be to update the portfolio when i become more experienced. I hope this type of portfolio helps me land a job next year.

Masters

It is masters week and i can not wait until the first major of the year starts. Tiger Woods is the odds on favorite and i do believe he will win. Although i think Geoff Olgilby and Adam Scott are playing great golf as of late. Tiger has taken two weeks off before the Masters. History has shown that when he takes two weeks off before a major he does quite well. We will soon see if he can win another green jacket.

The Pens

The Pittsburgh Penguins have won their division and may get the number one seed going into the playoffs. I am so excited. Its been a long time since the pens did so well. I think the team is very strong and will win the Stanley Cup. The team is full of all stars and they play well together or goalie is healthy and ready to play. So seat back an enjoy the playoffs. The Pens will bring the cup back to the burgh.

NASPE Forum

After posting on naspe forum and going through the cite i found a lot of useful information. The page is set up to be user friendly. All the topics are labeled and the amount of information is huge. I plain on using this forum in the future and this forum is a great way to get answers to questions about PE. Also this forum is a great way to get advice from people with experience.

PGA Golf

Tiger Woods came close to winning his fifth PGA tour event in a row this past week in Fla. The tour played the blue monster and scores were good but the weather was bad. It rained for two days on the weekend and a lot of the players had to finish on Monday. Tiger shoot a 15 under but fell two shots short. Jeff Ogilvy won with a score of 17 under. Tiger played well he just needed to putt better. He will probably win his next tournament.

Podcasting

I wanted to discuss how podcasting can help students learn. Everyone these days has a mp3 player or a ipod. We are always listening to them, so way not listen to lectures from different subjects. Dr. Leight who teaches Tech. PETE records a podcast for all her lectures. I put them on my ipod and listen to them when i drive. This helps me learn and i wish all instructors would do this. It is a good way to catch up on material you might have missed or need to hear again. I hope in the future colleges require their instructor to provide podcasts to the students.

Tiger wins

Tiger Woods has won again. He won last week at Bay Hill which is Arnold Palmer's tournament. This win was his made it five pga tournaments in a row. He has not lost since he started this new year. Tiger made a birdie putt on the last hole on the last day to win by one stroke over Bart Bryant. Tiger is so good he may win every tournament he play this year. I will keep you all posted.

Frontpage

After working on my own website for awhile i have become used to frontpage and i think it is a great way to create a webpage. Everything is there for you and frontpage takes the guess work out of everything. This is my first time using it and i hope to use it a lot in the future. I plan on making a family webpage this year and now i can do it without much trouble. I do wish you could drag pictures where ever you wanted them one the page with frontpage i have not been able to do this.

PGA

Well Tiger has done it again. He beat every one during the match play championship this past week. Not only did he win but he won by a lot and he embarrassed some of his opponents. The way he is playing i do not think he can be beat. This is rare in golf for someone to be so dominant. Also in golf news Fred Couples was named the US Presidents cup captain and Greg Norman was named for the international team.

Woods

Well Tiger Woods has impreesed again. On Wed. he won his watch with J.B Holmes. Tiger was down by Three at one point late in the watch. He then went 5 under on his last five holes to defeat Holmes. How good is that I think he will win it all.

Match Play

Well Tiger Woods is back playing this week in the world match play championship. The top 64 golfers in the world will play each other in match play. This is a bit different from the regular stoke play. In stroke play you are playing the entire field of golfers. In match play you are only playing against one golfer at a time. My pick for this week is Tiger Woods to win it all. I also think Adam Scott will go far. The tournament starts Wed. 2/20/08.

Slow computers

Do any other SRU students have problems with the computers in the library during common hour. They are so slow and are not able to connect a lot of times. I think the university needs to address this issue. They also need to buy more computers to meet the demand of so many students that attend this school.

Microsoft Publisher

I was just introduced to Microsoft publisher in my technology class. I think it is great and so easy to use. Publisher saves so much time in creating all types of documents, any thing from Calendars to certificates and a lot more. I have already used it in my personal life as long with doing school work. Once you get used to it you are going to love it.

PGA Golf

Well Tiger has done it again and won his second tournoment in his first two starts of the 2008 season. He beat out Ernie Els in the Dubi Classic. Ernie had a chance to tie Tiger on the 72nd hole, but chocked as many do when faceing Tiger. Ernie hit in the water on the par five 18th. Tiger made a 30 footer on the 18th to take a one stroke lead. I wonder how many in a row Tiger will win.

Super super bowl

Well i feel great about the Giants winning. I did not want Brady and the Pats to be perfect. I think Brady and his coach are a little sneaky and cocky. The catch at the end of the game was one of they best super catches i have ever seen. The game was boring until the fourth quarter and i really missed seeing the Steelers in this big game. They will make next year.

Golf

Well Tiger Woods is back playing golf this season so the rest of the pro golfers are pissed. His first tournment back he won by 8 strokes and to tell you the truth i think he let up a little bit on his fourth round on sunday. I wonder if this is the year he wins all four majors in one year. I think he will acomplish this feat in the next five years. Its fun to watch and see the best play and see just how good someone can be. I enjoyed watching Tiger this past year at the US open at Oakmount PA what a great finish to that tournment!

Prices of technology will drive you crazy

Last month in the end of Dec. i was at Costco and wanted to price the i-pods. I bought my i-pod about ten months ago. I bought the 30 gb ipod for what i thought was a good price at the time it costed $230. When i priced the newer i-pods last month they had a 80 gb for $240. This is pretty much the same price i paid not even a year ago and the amount of gbs more than doubled which is huge. 80gb allows you to hold alot more music, pictures and videos. So i am a little pissed because my 30 gb is almost full.

Bio

My name is Nicholas Daltorio and i live north of Pittsburgh and enjoy most all sports and i also love to play and listen to music. I hope to teach young people the importants of staying active and keeping fit so they may extend their lives. I am attending Slippery Rock University and hope to graduate in another year. My major is Health and PE and will become a public school teacher in this area.
